Cris is a mother of three beautiful girls, all teenagers, which makes her household loads of fun. So fun, in fact, that the family bought her husband a boat to provide him his place of respite. Cris and her family live very busy lives which includes netball, cheerleading and casual jobs. Cris is often asked “how do you do it”? Her answer is, “I have no idea, but it all gets done and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Cris started her career in suicide prevention and intervention which soon moved into postvention. This is an area she has a huge passion for and believes people’s everyday well-being helps with their ongoing mental health.

Cris moved to Perth only four years ago and lived in Darwin, NT before then. In Darwin, Cris worked at lifeline including counselling and training volunteers for phone support. She also worked in another non-for-profit that was originally set up for well-being and suicide prevention for male-dominated workplaces. This landed her on construction sites, mines, cattle stations and training facilities where she delivered mental health education with a holistic view and practice on well-being.

Cris moved to Perth in 2019 while still employed by Ozhelp and felt incredibly lucky to be able to work from home while she and her family settled into their new environment. She eventually felt the need to be around people which led to her current role at St John WA where she began her journey in March 2021.
