Melissa Knaggs

I’m a Registered Psychologist with experience supporting individuals, couples, and families across all stages of life. My work has predominantly been in regional and remote settings, which has deepened my appreciation for the importance of culturally responsive care — particularly in working alongside First Nations communities.

I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Residential Psychologist for Australia’s largest mining company BHP, in Port Hedland. In this role, I provided individual counselling and therapy, critical incident response, organisational consultation, and mental health education. This work offered invaluable insights into the unique psychological needs of those working in high-risk, high-pressure environments and solidified my commitment to accessible, quality care in the resource sector.

Beyond mining, I’ve supported clients navigating the complexities of the vocational rehabilitation and workers’ compensation systems. Earlier in my career, I worked closely with individuals with disabilities and their families — an experience that profoundly shaped my values and approach to care.
