About Melissa Knaggs

Melissa is a Registered Psychologist with broad experience supporting individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Her work has largely focused on regional and remote communities, where she has developed a deep commitment to culturally responsive care, particularly when working in partnership with First Nations peoples.

She has held pivotal roles in high-impact settings, including serving as the Residential Psychologist for BHP in Port Hedland, Australia’s largest mining company. In this role, she provided frontline psychological support, organisational consultation, and critical incident response, gaining a nuanced understanding of mental health within the resource sector and high-pressure work environments.

Her career has also included work across vocational rehabilitation, workers’ compensation, and disability services—shaping a values-driven, compassionate approach to care.

Melissa is known for her warm, evidence-based approach and strong belief in improving access to quality psychological care for underserved populations.
